Join Rick Martinez and Omnivore Books at Tofino Wines on May 22, from 3:00p.m. - 5p.m.! Rick will be on hand to say hi and sign books, and Tofino will have plenty of by-the-glass and bottle options from their stellar list to purchase. 

We'll have plenty of books for sale at the event (or purchase your copy now by pressing that big red ADD TO CART button and we'll have it ready for you to pick up when you arrive).

The event is free to attend - you must be 21 with proof of vaccination and a mask to enter.

About the author

Rick is a regular contributor to The New York Times and Food52, the host of the hit show Pruébalo on the Babish Culinary Universe network, and the host of Food52’s Sweet Heat, which IACP awarded as a best food series. He also served as the Senior Food Editor at Bon Appetit, where his work earned him a nomination for a prestigious James Beard Award in 2020.  


About the book

Rick's debut cookbook Mi Cocina is a transporting tribute to his family's homeland of Mexico and a personal exploration of Rick's self-identity as a third-generation Mexican American who built his career in the predominantly white world of food media. With personal essays and more than 100 recipes inspired by Rick's 586 days spent driving around Mexico, Mi Cocina is at the same time highly informative, inspirational and infused with personality. 


A note about our in-person events

If you're vaccinated, masks are optional. If you're unvaccinated, we require you to wear a mask while in the shop.  Event capacity is 50 people, first come, first served and standing room only. 

As always, signed books will be available for anyone who wants one. If you can't make it to the talk, pre-order a signed copy of the book and we'll ship it to you!
