ABOUT THE AUTHOR & THEIR BOOK:

Tamara Jo Hicks grew up in rural East County, San Diego, California, and in Oklahoma. When she moved to the Bay Area to pursue a clinical psychology doctorate degree, she gravitated to bucolic West Marin. In 2003, Hicks, along with her husband, David Jablons, and their daughters, Josy and Emmy, purchased the 160-acre Toluma Farms property and began restoring the land and old dairy, eventually adding goats and sheep. In 2013, Toluma Farms began their third phase: making their own farmstead cheese under the label of Tomales Farmstead Creamery. 

Jessica Lynn MacLeod grew up in Mill Valley, CA and San Diego County where she loved to cook and paint from a young age. She has spent her career working at the intersection of technology and social good, spanning roles in early stage startups, public companies, government, and nonprofits. She is now a leadership coach and enjoys spending her free time cooking for loved ones, painting, visiting Toluma Farms, and enjoying the beauty of Marin with her husband Doug and daughter Mary.
