(Brazil) Women's Auxiliary to the Stranger's Hospital. The New Cook Book.

Illus. with numerous ads for local products and businesses. Green cloth. First Edition. Rio de Janeiro: 1955.

Compiled as a charitable cookbook, in both English and Portuguese, and replete with recipes for cocktails and food of the region: daiquiri cocktail, mint julep, Merino Presidente (with Ron Merino rum), crabs royal, bachalau in various guises, corn fritters, etc. A helpful chart lists "fish found in Brazilian waters and cooking of same", as well as a chapter on Brazilian specialties like feijoda completa, bahia patties, souffle of xuxuxs, etc. Shelf wear, tears to cloth near spine head, thus good only, but with numerous loose manuscript recipes laid-in and great local ads throughout.
