(Chez Panisse) Happy New Year!

Menu, 14x8.5", linocut image by Patricia Curtan in Janson type on paper. Berkeley: Chez Panisse Cafe, Dec. 31, 1995.

The menu design for the Cafe and the restaurant were similar, though the Cafe one is on lighter paper, and contains a much more extensive selection of dishes. Wild mushrooms were significant to Chez Panisse's chef at the time, Jean-Pierre Moule, who learned to forage for them as a child in France, and later hunted chantrelles in the Berkeley Hills. Near fine.
