An early 20th century diet cookbook with an eye to reducing calories, including suggested menus set up by season, advice for slimming down, and recipes for all kinds with calorie counts included. Baked lentils (2,093 calories), quick bran bread without nuts of raisins (820 calories), cream of cabbage soup (850 calories), and peanut roast (4,052 calories!). Very good.
