The first edition was published in 1888, and this edition includes the forewords to all 4 editions (1888, 1896, 1899, and this one). This edition of the practical Jewish cookbook is an enlarged edition with additional recipes and appendixes on tablecloths and serving. This was a popular German-Jewish cookbook for many years, and includes guidelines for kosher cooking methods and ingredients, including seventy varieties of sweet and savory soups, as well as ragouts made from veal brain and sweetbreads and tongue. Minor rubbing to spine ends, else a near fine and bright copy.
