(**NEW ARRIVAL**) (African American) Frank Bellamy. His Finest Party Recipes, based on a lifetime of successful catering.

63 pp. Comb-bound pictorial wrappers. First Edition. Roswell, GA: [1965].

A scarce book by Texan Frank Bellamy, who moved to Roswell, Georgia from Austin in 1920, and began his career in 1926. His first serving was for Mrs. Arden Boellner and Mrs. Reed Mulkey. Each recipe herein will serve 24 guests, and Bellamy included his favorite crowd-pleasers, including Wedding Punch, queso beans, date nut pie, corn Fairfax, cream chicken tacos, shrimp Creole, Spanish pork chops, Creole egg plant, chicken tamale pie, etc. Quite a few recipes are representative of his home state of Texas. According to bibliographer and scholar Toni Tipton-Martin, "The party dishes organized and served to moneyed households in Roswell, Georgia, were so elegantly done that the people whom Bellamy had helped entertain over the years created this handmade manuscript as a permanent tribute." Fine.
