Welcome to Omnivore Books on Food's New Online Store

(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Eastern European) Kay Shaw Nelson. The Eastern European Cookbook.

Jacket. First Edition. Chicago: Henry Regenery, [1973].

Chapters are divided by country: East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Albania. Of course, the East German chapter is very interesting, as that particular cuisine lasted less than 50 years: rollmops of Berlin, Berlin pea soup with bacon, blue trout, hasenpfeffer, etc. Each chapter has an extensive history of the country as well. Tear and corresponding creases to upper front jacket panel, else very good.
