(**New Arrival**) (Outdoors) Cora, Rose & Bob Brown. Outdoor Cooking.

Jacket. First Edition. NY: Greystone Press, [1940].

The prolific Brown family wrote numerous cookbooks over a span of about 20 years, and were known for their excellent ideas. One chapter herein is titled, " Girlish Grub Dished Out by the Camp Fire Girls." Another is called, " When Do We Eat? or Stews are News: Pine Bark, Brunswick, Jungle, Mulligan, Slumgullion, Boolyaw, Lobscouse and Burgoo." Some of the game and foraging recipes are for Rocky Mountain goat, ramps, jugged squirrel, Rocky Mountain sheep, mountain trout, breaded bear paws, opossum, etc. There are Native American dishes, Appalachian specialties, fire-building advice, and much more. A terrific book on the subject. Chipping and short teats to jacket extremities, piece of jacket lacking from rear upper panel, else very good and bright.
