(Sugar) Geerligs, H.C. Prinsen.  On Cane Sugar and the Process of its Manufacture in Java.

Illus. with numerous ads in front & rear of sugar refinery equipment. Original brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Second Edition. Altrincham, England: Office of the "Sugar Cane," 1902.

From c.1870 through to the inter-war depression, Java was consistently the world's second largest producer-exporter of cane sugar after Cuba; and, more importantly, during the course of the nineteenth century, Java was far ahead of other Asian producers in the industrialization of sugar manufacture. An important work on the subject, which I can hardly comprehend. Near fine.
