Syonsby, Ria. Lady Syonsby's Cook Book.

Intro. by Osbert Sitwell. Illus. incl. color frontispiece by Oliver Messel. Boards, jacket (laid-down on boards, as issued). First Edition. London: Putnam, [1935].

A collection of recipes from four generations of Syonsby women, including typically English dishes such as minted egg pie, grouse on toast, potted cheese, and muff bread, as well as classic French recipes for pilaff of lobster Boulestin, sole diplomate, poularde a la mode de Bresse, etc. Color illustrations are wonderful. Tanning to covers, rubbing to extremities, else very good.
