(Berkeley) Berkeley Women’s City Club Recipes

292 pp. Replete with ads for Berkeley businesses, some pictorial, as well as frontis. image of the club. Dec. wrappers. First Edition. Berkeley: Berkeley Women’s City Club, c.1930’s.

The Berkeley Women's City Club building was designed by one of their members, architect Julia Morgan (student of Bernard Maybeck and notably Berkeley’s most famous architect). The building was completed in 1929 and the book was probably published in the early 1930's. Recipes from members include Hodge Podge Pudding with Panocha Sauce, stuffed Italian squash, Outdoor Fireplace Dish, Tahoe Stew, Tamale Loaf, etc. Some creasing to covers, else very good.
