The Purefoy Hotel was opened in Talladega, Alabama in 1920, and was known for its true Southern food and hospitality. Word spread about the food and hospitality and people came for miles and even other states to eat at the Purefoy. The typical menu consisted of 40 entrees served buffet style. The hotel in Talladega had 88 rooms, so in order for them to serve three meals a day there had to be a staff of 27. They were famed for their pecan pie, the recipe for which is of course included here. Stains and rubbing to covers; some internal dogearing and faint stains, else good, with a few period recipes written in pencil throughout.
