(English) Edith Martin, ed. Cornish Recipes Ancient and Modern.
$75
/
75 pp. Green wrappers. Truro: A.W. Jordan, 1946.
A popular book for the area, this copy was in its 17th printing since it was first published in 1929. It belonged to cookbook writer Elizabeth David (no ownership markings appear, but it came from her estate). Recipes contributed by members of the Cornwall Federation of Women's Institutes, including several versions of saffron cake, as well as Cornish fairings, Cornish heavy cake, muggety pie, marinated mackerel, conger pie, etc. Very good.
