Got questions? We've got answers! If your question isn't covered, don't hesitate to reach out to us via phone or the contact section of our About Us page.
We are a small (but mighty!) team of four working hard to ship your orders within a day or so after you place it.
- Media Mail: takes approximately 7-10 business days to arrive once shipped.
- Priority Mail: takes 2 days to arrive once shipped
- Event Orders: We ship signed books from our author events a day or so after the event.
- Backorders: We ship backorders as soon as we receive the book from the publisher.
We ship pre-orders as soon as the publisher sends us the book (unless you've ordered a signed copy—we have to wait for the author to sign it or for bookplates to arrive).
Estimated publishing dates change (often!) and we do our best to keep you updated if the book will arrive later than the original estimated date.
For highly anticipated books, we may receive several hundred pre-orders, this means that it might take us a week or so to fulfill your pre-order while we carefully package each book. We do our best to keep you updated about delays.

This means we are preparing your order for shipping, but it hasn't been given to USPS yet. Once your book is handed over to USPS, the tracking info will update. If you are wondering when your book will actually ship, please call (415-282-4712) or email (info@omnivorebooks.com) the shop for the most up-to-date estimation.
You should call your local post office. Once we hand your package over to them, we have no control over what happens. Your local post office can give you specific information about your delivery - we’ve found that most times the tracking was mistakenly updated. If the post office has indeed lost your package, please contact us to work out a solution.
Sit tight while we prepare your order! We'll send you an email as soon as your order is ready to be picked up.
*Orders placed during business hours will often be available for same day pick-up. Check your spam, sometimes the email ends up there!
