Perhaps better known for their Prohibition-era cocktail book, Quiet Drinking, this book deserves attention for the sheer number of soup and sauce recipes. Potato soup Creole, cream of pea soup, Florentine soup, minestrone, Russian soldier's soup, herb gumbo, New England clam chowder, emergency soup, etc. And then, Bermuda sauce, mint sauce, currant jelly sauce, Venetian sauce, and on and on. A bit of darkening to spine, else very good.
