Not only is this book fantastic, but there are five different Farewell Dinner menus laid-in loose from the USNS Bartlett, dated 1952, and a folding chart describing uniform requirements for stewards. Together, these comprise a thorough snapshot of wartime naval cooking, with chapters on meat cuts, sanitation, health, nutrition, and more. There's even an entire section on cupcakes!
