The book includes history, chemistry, anthropology, sociology, etc., and looks deeply at indigenous fermented beverages from the Americas, ancient Egyptian ferments, the consumption of beer and wine across the world, alcoholism, compounds identified in whiskey, wine and beer, and much more.

This copy has been removed from the UC Berkeley Library and has all the attendant ex-library stamps. Piece of jacket lacking from spine head, tape to lower spine area, still very good. Rare.
