(Food History) The Presidents' Cookbook: The Recipes and Foods of All the Presidents, including Richard M. Nixon (Poppy Cannon & Patricia Brooks)

$45.00

Illus. with portraits of presidents. Jacket. First Edition. NY: Bonanza Books, [1968].

A deeply researched history of the food and drinks each President and their families enjoyed (or not), with recipes. Mary Todd's courting cake (Lincoln), Williamsburg Sally Lunn (Jefferson), mugwump in a hole (Chester Arthur), macaroon souffle (Kennedy), and hot chip chicken salad (Nixon, naturally).

A couple cartoons mounted to front free endpaper, with offset from glue to upper front pastedown, otherwise very good. A really cool book.
