(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Vietnamese) Sodpic, ed. Petit Livre de Recettes de Cuisine: Sino-Vietnamiennes et Exotiques
Printed in red & black. White wrappers, glassine cover. First Edition. [Paris: Edition Sodpic, 1960].
A fascinating book of recipes from Vietnam and other far-flung countries, many of whom were French colonies at the time. Published around the outset of the Vietnam War, this contains a descriptive glossary of French-Vietnamese cuisine, with names in French and Vietnamese, and explanations about baguettes, beignets, bamboo, rice wine, abalone, tea flowers, glutamate, shrimp paste, and much more. There are also French-Vietnamese recipes and menu suggestions. In addition, there are recipes and food descriptions from Indonesia, Africa, Egypt, Japan, South America, Antilles, India, and Arab countries.
Ballpoint pen scribbles to several margins, not affecting text, otherwise near fine; scarce.
