(Chocolate - Cuban) El Chocolate en los Platos Caseros: Recetario de Cocina del Chocolate "La Estrella."
$200.00
/
31 pp. Pictorial wrappers. First Edition. Havana: La Estrella, 1934.
La Estrella was a chocolate factory in Havana, thought to have been started in the early 20th century by Gerardo Abreu Fontan. By 1928, cacao was among the main crops grown in Cuba, with 9.8 million pounds produced in that year alone. This booklet advises how to use La Estrella chocolate in recipes like chocolate de castañas for 10 people, panes de chocolate, galleticas de chocolate y pasas, chocolate al jerez, brazo gitano, etc. The book begins with a history of the company and chocolate in Cuba. General shelfwear, but overall very good; a remarkable survival.
