(Restaurants) De Quattrociocchi, Niccolo. Love and Dishes.
$125.00
/
Illus. with drawings by Roger Duvoisin. Jacket. First Edition. NY: Bobbs-Merrill, [1950].
De Quattrociocchi was the owner of renowned New York City restaurant El Borracho. Born in Sicily, the raconteur known as "Nicky Q' to his friends was described this on the jacket flap, "The pursuit of lovely ladies has proved a satisfactory preoccupation for a lifetime...he has been luckier in roulette than in love...." I'll bet. Recipes are not just from El Borracho, but also from Nicky's favorite haunts, such as La Tour d'Argent, Vieux Carre in New Orleans, Restaurant La Rue in Los Angeles, the Colony in New York, etc. Chipping to jacket spine ends, rubbing to jacket extremities and particularly upper spine area, else very good.
