(Los Angeles) Keeler. Grandma Keeler's Housekeeper.
$200.00
/
Illus. with frontis. port. of Grandma Keeler, and with numerous full-page pictorial ads for L.A. businesses. Gilt-lettered white cloth. [Los Angeles: L.A. Herald Examiner, c.1912].
Grandma Keeler was clearly of Dutch heritage, with numerous recipes and menus for Dutch and Northern European fare, but she also incorporated California-Mexican recipes such as Mexican Chili con Carne, Tortillas, Tamales, Ollo Podrida, Mexican grated corn, green chile omelet, etc. Perhaps most notable, Grandma Keeler, liked her cocktails, and lists recipes for 53 of them, 4 of which feature Absinthe. Very good condition.
