A compilation of recipes from the Ladies' Auxiliary of Addison, Illinois, to benefit the Kinderheim, a Lutheran orphanage in Chicago. There are chapters on torten, muffins and doughnuts, dishes for convalescents, hot weather drinks, macaroni and spaghetti, and dumplings, croquettes and fritters. The recipes represent the immigrant background of so many Chicagoans, Eastern European and Italian in particular.
