Food writer Elizabeth David's copy, with her initials in pencil to front free endpaper, as well as with an envelope addressed to her, containing several small manuscript notes paper-clipped together. The most mysterious of these reads, "All these recipes (and several more) taken from my books. A disgraceful compilation." Jacket spine well faded and chipped; good only. David likely used this book for research in writing her many books and articles.
