This scarce little book by Albert Smith describes to etiquette of evening parties in the mid-19th century, including the minutae of dinner, from service to conversation. He also gets into music, fashion, games, and dancing. John Leech illustrated the first edition of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and was a regular contributor to Punch magazine. 

Mild rubbing to extremities of leather; spot & soiling to front wrapper, lacking original rear wrapper (both boards of period binding present), otherwise a very good copy of a rare and charming book.
