(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Etiquette) Press Committee of Deems Memorial Christian Endeavour Society of Immanuel Church. Eighty Pleasant Evenings
Dec. aqua cloth. First Edition. Boston & Chicago: United Society of Christian Endeavour, 1898.
A delightful book of party propositions, including socials with titles like A Crystal Social, A Buttercup Social, An Italian Social, etc. Naturally, each social consists of appropriate dishes being served, like "macaroni and tropical fruits, including bananas sold by a member of the society dressed as an Italian peddler." Games, songs, and other recitations are recommended for each social as well, and many are assumed to be fundraisers.
Owner's laid-in notes and clippings about other types of party games (a "peanut frolic"!) at front, with her name and place (A. Lorena Youngman, Glen Ellen, CA) to front flyleaf. A bit of foxing along spine, else very good.
