(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (French) Edouard De Pomiane. La Cuisine en Dix Minutes ou l'Adaptation au Rythme Moderne

$150.00

254 pp. Illus. with woodcuts. Original dec. wrappers. First Edition. [Paris]: Editions Paul-Martial, 1930.

A scarce first edition in French, about which the author said was an "adaptation to the modern rhythm", intended "for the student, the midinette, the employee, the artist, the lazy person, the poet, the man of action, the dreamer, the scholar, for all those who have only one hour for lunch or dinner and who want to have, all the same, half an hour of freedom to contemplate the smoke of their cigarette, while drinking sip by sip a cup of coffee that does not even have time to cool down". Its translation into English was a great success; perhaps De Pomiane's most famous book.

Front wrapper and front free endpaper detached, chipping to extremities of brittle pages, paper at spine foot lacking, else good - a beautifully illustrated first edition.
