$40.00

Comb-bound yellow wrappers. First Edition. San Francisco: International Institute of San Francisco, [1980].

The International Institute of San Francisco was a United Way agency, which described itself as "a non-profit, non-sectarian, private social service agency...serving all nationalities since 1918." Their services included multi-lingual, multi-cultural counseling legal assistance for immigrants, reuniting families, resettling refuees, and community education. When this book was published, their largest numbers came from Mexico, China, El Salvador and Vietnam.

Some of the 66 international recipes herein include marinated lotus root, lumpia, Vietnamese pork sticks, fried wonton (with step-by-step drawings), fresh coriander chutney, and much more. All recipes were contributed by members.

A little discoloration to wrappers; some interior offset from newspaper clippings, else very good.
