Perhaps even more scarce than Machlin's first volume on the subject, this second volume followed in 1992. Edda Servi Machlin wasa native of Pitigliano, Italy, a Tuscan village that was once home to a vibrant Jewish community, and she became one of only a few scholars on the foodways of Italian Jews.
