In Italian. This was clearly an important book to its owner, Lynne Rosetto Kasper, because she underlined nearly every page, and wrote notes in margins and on post-it's throughout. I don't blame her for being compelled; the book extensively covers food, folklore, and society in Northern Italy, with writings on holiday traditions, resistance to advances or changes in foodways, chestnut recipes, etc. 

Shelf wear, with a few light spots to covers; well-loved and researched by Kasper.
