Jacket. Fourth Edition. NY: Bloch Publishing, 1945.
A wartime edition of a classic Jewish cookbook by Mildred Bellin, with recipes from America, Germany, Russia, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, and France. All countries that were, at the time of printing, allies and enemies fighting about Jews and territory in WWII. This book is a little heartbreaking, but shows the power of food to bring people together who were simultaneously being pulled apart.
Havy chipping to jacket spine ends and some extremities; owner's name faintly written on upper front free endpaper, else very good.
