(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Mexican) Sandwichs Modernos (Josefina Velázquez de Leon)
76 pp. Illus. from drawings and photographs. Pictorial wrappers. First Edition. Mexico: Josefina Velazquez de Leon, 1946.
A charming little book on making sandwiches, from Mexico's most prolific and beloved cooking instructor. During the 1930s, Velázquez de León published recipes in the Puebla publication Mignon Magazine. These recipes were focused on home cooking and giving guidelines to women about how to start a small home business; this, in turn, led her to form the Velázquez de León Cooking Academy. As the representative of the cooking school, Velázquez de León traveled to various states of the country promoting a national gastronomy proposal based on the relationship between good eating, family spending, nutrition, history, and regional cuisine. Selecciones Culinarias.
Browning to extremities, tiny closed tear to rear wrapper, else very good.
