Signed on the limitation page by Sara Palmer, president of the National Society of New England Women. A compilation by and for the members, with recipes for old New England cider cake (with a historical note that "This formula was used for cake made especially for house raising events"), New England election cake, green pepper sandwich, mustard eggs, barbecue chicken, Massachusetts "rarebit," watermelon conserve, etc. There is also a chapter on ices, creams and punches, with some alcoholic versions like Roman Punch, Colonial punch, and elder blossom wine. A list in back of members is provided. Wear to boards extremities, discoloration to covers; front free endpaper lacking, piece of rear free endpaper lacking (and the rest of said flyleaf with manuscript recipes in pencil), else good. Charming.
