(New York) United Presbyterian Church. Non-Sectarian Food.
$95.00
/
94 + iv ad pp. Illus. with ads. Gilt-lettered gray wrappers. First Edition. Johnstown, NY: Charles M. Smith, 1896.
Despite being published in the interest of the local Presbyterian church, the recipes are irreligious, with instructions from congregants for making devil's food, black chocolate cake, Mrs. Lincoln's vegetable soup, bisque of lobster, oysters roasted in the shell, soft shell crabs, Indian pilau, puff omelet, sweet potatoes a la Maryland, etc. Very good, with wonderful ads for local businesses.
