(Service) Anne Frances Springsteed. The Expert Waitress: A Manual for the Pantry, Kitchen, and Dining-Room.
$120.00
/
Pictorial steel blue cloth lettered in red, small spine cameo. Early Edition. NY: Harper & Bros., 1899.
A wonderful book first published in 1894, about becoming a professional servant in the American Victorian era, with instructions on dining room service for each meal, how to arrange picnics and traveling luncheons, care of the pantry, silver, lamps, etc., taking care of knives, how to approach the invalid's room, and a chapter titled, "Truthfulness in the Waitress." Ink marks to cloth along spine and edges, else about very good.
