A scarce first edition of the second in a three-volume series by Pei Mei that quickly became a classic. Fu Pei Mei was born in Shantung Province, and studied cooking and food science in China and Japan before moving to Taiwan. In 1955, she established the Chinese Cooking Institute in Taipei, and in 1962 started a cooking program on television, which had just been introduced to Taiwan. Her specialty was explaining and popularizing Chinese dishes of Taiwan, fusing the culinary traditions of both places. Very good.
