(Washington - Community Cookbook) Ladies of Stevens Woman's Relief Corps. The Household Cook Book, Tried and Found Good.
$150.00
/
196 pp. Illus. with ads for local businesses. Pictorial green cloth lettered in orange. Third Edition. Seattle: Ladies of Stevens Woman's Relief Corps No. 1, 1910.
Sevens Relief Corps was a patriotic Civil War organization, and the contributors, named after each recipe, provided instructions for making gooseberry soy, pie-plant conserve, salmon salad, sardine salad, steamed halibut, fried oysters, and many more Seattle delicacies. Wonderful period ads for local businesses, including one in rear for a vibrator (yes, that kind!). Rubbing to one spot on front cover as well as spine ends, spine cloth indented, contents a bit shaken, else very good.
