$95.00
/
4 pp. menu and program on thick, glossy paper, staple-bound into pictorial stiff wrappers. San Francisco: Palace Hotel, June 20, 1918.
A patriotic program and menu from San Francisco's Palace Hotel during the height of World War I, with numerous song lyrics listed (Star Spangled Banner, Joan of Arc, Allemand, and many more, including one called "Long, Long Trail" that muses about the trenches of France). A program of music by presumably talented singers within the Pacific Service Employees' (a precursor of P.G. & E.) ranks sang opera while a dinner was served including shrimp Louis, strained okra in a cup, and medallion of salmon, American. Minor, faint stain to spine head, else very good and bright.
