(New Jersey) Young Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Y's Cook-Book for Wise Cooks
$75.00
/
Illus. throughout with ads for local businesses. Cloth-backed rust-colored stiff wrappers printed in black. Fifth Edition. Salem, NJ: 1911.
Evidently a quite popular community cookbook, this was first published in 1893, and went through five printings by 1911. Salem, NJ is one of the most rural spots in the state, yet the temperance union there was a powerhouse. Recipes include German doughnuts, Sicilian sauce, planked shad, Saratoga potatoes, baked rabbits, etc. 1" piece lacking from upper corner of front free endpaper, else very good condition.
