The scarce first edition of Toklas' cookbook, which was published in London in 1954. Toklas' much younger friend, Brion Gysen, contributed the famed recipe for haschish fudge, infuriating Toklas when she discovered it after publication. She made sure the American edition was stripped of the recipe. Rubbing and some darkening to cloth spine. Minor chipping to jacket spine head, price clipped at lower flap corner, small bump along upped page edges, else near fine and bright - extremely scarce thus.
