Sri Bodanapu Author Talk • Kolkata: The People, Kitchens and Streets of the City of Joy

Sri Bodanapu - Founded by Sri Bodanapu, Heirloom Cities brings together writers, photographers and designers to create collectible volumes that function both as references and as enduring records of food cultures .

Heirloom Cities is a design-led publishing project dedicated to documenting cities through their food cultures and everyday traditions. Through meticulously researched books that combine essays, photography and design, the series examines how kitchens, markets and communities shape the identity of a place.

Jillian Knox is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist, stylist, and visual storyteller based in San Francisco. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Photography, her work spans food, fashion, and prop styling, with contributions to more than 14 cookbooks and features in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Southern Living, and Real Simple. Her work has received recognition from the James Beard Foundation, and in 2022 she was named a Top Creator by Black Women in Food.

Jillian’s creative practice is rooted in a deep passion for cultural storytelling and representation; focusing specifically on the ways food, images, and publishing can preserve history to make space for a wider range of voices. She is especially interested in the stories we choose to tell, who gets to tell them, and how those stories become artifacts for future generations.
