Inspired by a smaller local booklet of recipes published in 1943, this community cookbook is replete with recipes from local members of 4-H Clubs in the outdoorsy areas of Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen, and the Finger Lakes region. Nutritiously emphasized recipes include carrot and peanut loaf, Chinese eggs, menfolks' salad, soybean salad, meatless loaf, turnip pudding, etc. While there are a few recipes that include fish, the rest is meatless. The reason behind this appears to be more around nutrition and health than wartime rationing and scarcity Irregular fading to wrappers, otherwise very good, and quite scarce.
