First published in 1901, the Picauyne's Creole Cook Book quickly became a classic of Louisiana cooking. Early editions like this are quite scarce. Replete with Creole and regionals recipes for food and drinks, including Creole coffee, shrimp Jambalaya, jellied foie gras loaf, hare Creole style, pababotte a la Creole, The Picayune frog, Absinthe or wormwood ratafia, Louisiana punch, etc. Rubbing to corners (top front corner a bit chewed), some fading and faint spots to covers, repair to lower spine along hinge; owner's name to front free endpaper, else very good.
