Petty Pandean-Elliott grew up on Sulawesi, adjacent to the Spice Islands, near to her grandfather's coconut plantations. A former Iron Chef Asia judge, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of the diverse cuisine of Indonesia, which she had to adapt to local ingredients once she became an ex-pat living in London.
