(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (California) Ana Begue Packman. Leather Dollars: Short Stories of Pueblo Los Angeles. *Signed*
$200.00
/
Foreword by Harry Carr. Illus. with silhouette drawings. First Edition. Los Angeles: Times-Mirror Press, [1932].
Lengthily inscribed & signed by Ana Begue Packman to Dr. Robert Gordon Sproul on the front free endpaper, in which she describes her California heritage. Robert Gordon Sproul (May 22, 1891 – September 10, 1975) was the first system-wide president (1952–1958) of the University of California, and his namesake Sproul Plaza on the Berkeley campus may be better known than he ever was. 3" piece of orange paper lacking from spine board; otherwise a very good copy with an impressive association inscription!
