(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Chez Panisse) Catherine Brandel & Peggy Smith, eds. Chez Panisse Farmers' Market Purveyors and Recipes.
$50.00
/
Illus. with wood engravings. 74 pp. Pictorial wrappers. First Edition. Berkeley: Chez Panisse, Aug. 25, 1991.
Compiled by chef-managers Brandel and Smith (who went on to found Cowgirl Creamery) for the restaurant's 20th anniversary, this is a book of descriptive listings of the farms and purveyors of food for Chez Panisse, as well as recipes using ingredients from the various purveyors. A fascinating snapshot of California's local foods movement at its moment in 1991. Very good.
