The Cuisine of Olympe: Great French Cooking Easily Prepared (Dominique "Olympe" Nahmias)

$40.00

Illus. Jacket. Piscataway: New Century Editions, 1982.

Dominique Versini is better known as Olympe, and is one of the very few female chefs that has become an acclaimed chef with celebrity status and has now written four cook books.

Although she originally ran a Michelin starred restaurant, in 1993 she opened the Casa Olympe, which is more like a bistro than a traditional restaurant and is small, cozy and only seats around 30 people at a time, but asked for it not to be evaluated for any Michelin rating. Yet the food here is of Michelin standards and based upon the Corsican cuisine with innovations, this superb little bistro in the 9th Arrondissement of Paris has become ever so popular over the years and reservations have become a must.

She was among one of the first chefs in Paris to create the concept of 'New Bistro' with a menu that consisted of original generously served dishes that were based on fresh quality produce but with ingenuity.
