With anecdotes and biographies of the great French gastronomic authors, and with engraved portraits of them: Marquis de Cussy, Antonin Carême, Grimod de la Reynière, Jules Gouffé and an autograph letter of Antonin Carême 1832. An important 19th c. work on French pastry. Rubbing to extremities, else very good.
