(Texas) Cox, Mrs. Samuel R., ed. The Parker Cook Book: Published for the Benefit of the First Presbyterian Church.
$150.00
/
416 pp. Frontis. photo of the church. Occasional ads incl. color. Dec. cloth. Second Edition. Abilene, TX: Abilene Printing & Stationery, 1932.
The church was on N. 4th & Orange Sts., and this popular cookbook made it into its second printing by being large and substantial. Recipes include hot slaw, prairie chicken, doves, quail on toast, strawberry ice cream, doughnuts, and even "old pigeons made to taste like squabs." Very good.
